A genome screen for genes predisposing to bipolar affective disorder detects a new susceptibility locus on 8q
Human Molecular Genetics 10, 29332944 (2001)
In this Article, results from a complete genome screen in 75 bipolar affective disorder (BPAD) families were reported. Erroneously, the two models of affection used in the linkage analyses were incorrectly described. The authors wish to apologize for that error which, however, does not change the conclusions of the paper.
The first paragraph of the linkage analyses section (p. 2942) should now read as follows: Two models of affection were used in the linkage analyses: ASM I (narrow definition of the phenotype) included individuals with BPI and Bipolar disorder NOS (DSMIII-R code 296.70) as affected, all other psychiatric diagnoses were coded as unknown; ASM II (broad definition) included all individuals with a diagnosis of BPI, Bipolar disorder NOS, SA, UPR and UPS with other minor psychiatric disorders coded unknown.
