About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: Polyglutamine-protein aggregates within the nucleus activate a cellular stress response. Cells expressing a truncated polyglutamine-expanded protein for 7 days were fixed and analyzed by indirect immunofluorescence. Shown in red is the distribution of the polyglutamine-expanded protein, in green the hsp72 protein (an indicator of the cellular stress response), and in blue DAPI staining of the nuclei. Merging of the images is presented. Note the intense co-localization of hsp72 and the polyglutamine-expanded protein (resultant yellow color). See Article by Cowan et al., in this issue, pp.1377-1391.
