Cover: Distribution of sulfatase and sulfatase modifying factor genes within the evolutionary tree of fully sequenced eubacterial species. All the investigated species are shown. Sulfatase genes are present in the following phyla: Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Planctomycetes, and Cyanobacteria. Bacterial species and phyla that lack sulfatase genes are in grey. For more information see Sardiello et al., pages 3203-3217, in this issue.
