About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: The cover figure shows an interspecies chimera (center) between the house mouse Mus musculus (left) and the wood mouse Apodemus sylvaticus (right), two divergent rodent species that differ by about 18% in genome sequence. Chimeras are created by injecting Apodemus ES cells into Mus blastocyst embryos, and using Mus surrogate mothers to carry the embryos to term. For further information, see A.P. Xiang et al., pp. 27-37.
