Cover: The cover figure shows a carotid artery cross-section from an Nf1+/- mouse that has enlarged neointima formation in response to mechanical arterial injury, reminiscent of vascular lesions described in Neurofibromatosis type 1 patients. The immunofluorescent image shows an accumulation of alpha-smooth muscle actin positive (red) smooth muscle cells within the intima area. The intima area is delineated by the internal elastic lamina, which can be visualized by murine tissue autofluorescence (green). Nuclei are marked with DAPI (blue). See E.A.
